Theresa Christine (Taylor) Stephens

Decatur ~ Theresa Christine Stephens, 69, of Decatur went to her heavenly home Monday, May 2, 2022 after a brief courageous battle with colon cancer.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born June 15, 1952 in Weatherford, Texas to Mary Brown Taylor and Delbert Junior Taylor. She graduated from Brewer High School, White Settlement, Texas as Valedictorian of the class of 1970. Theresa attended Weatherford College. She worked for Tri-Steel for over 30 years and Rhino for several years. Theresa was a woman of great faith, she attended First Baptist Church in Decatur, Texas. Theresa often shared her love for Jesus with others and would text songs that would be helpful and uplifting when they were going through difficult times. She was beautiful inside and out. Theresa loved her family and friends and oh how we love her. Heaven gained an angel and we are left with a big hole that cannot be filled.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Mary Taylor; and many other family members.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Kim Taylor of Decatur; her aunt, Betty Fee of Temple; her best friend, Carla Price of Decatur, numerous cousins and a host of friends.
