Thomas Burns

Chico~ Thomas Burns, 84, of Chico, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Keller.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Wise County Veterans Group.

Thomas was born on June 20, 1936 to Elijah and Estelle (Hickey) Burns in Navarro County, Texas. He was a veteran and proudly served our country in the United States Army. Thomas was a retired flooring contractor. Some of his favorite things to do were fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Thomas will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marie Hastings, Jean Ellis, Janie Armstrong, and Cathy Aaron.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Tom Mac Burns of Yantis, Texas, and Todd Burns and wife Vicki of Haltom City; his grandchildren, Dustin Burns, Samantha Culver and husband Michael, Alexander Willis, Cody Burns and wife Kelle, and Melisa Whittle; his great-grandchildren, Jensen, Magnolia, Olive, Chandler, Bethany and Breana; the mother of his children, Barbara Trammell; his sisters, Jewell Nitzsche, Sarah Wright, and Jarvis Admire; and his brother, Charles “Sonny” Burns; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
