Thurman "Sparky" Sparks, 74 , of Bridgeport, self employed, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers are David Sparks, Robert Sparks, William Sparks, Royce Vess, David Yates, Allen Taylor, Michael Sparks, and Jared Sparks.
Sparky was born on October 16, 1936 to Robert and Clara (Boyd) Sparks in Chico. He married Mary Sue Murray on March 21, 1979 in Bridgeport. Sparky was owner of Sparks Fina in Bridgeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, David Sparks and wife Marilyn of Peaster, Robert Sparks of Chico, and William (Jr) Sparks of Bridgeport; his daughters, Teresa Yates and husband David of Bridgeport, Loretta Vess and husband Royce of Boyd, and Patricia Taylor and husband Allen of Bridgeport; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his brother, Larry Sparks and wife Mary Lou of Fort Worth; and a host of friends.
