Decatur ~ Tim McGar, 59, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Denton, Texas.

Graveside Service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Brandon Blasingame will officiate.

Tim was born November 29, 1961 to Wayne and Mary McGar in Denton, Texas. He was united in marriage June 10, 1980 to Tammy Lynn Renfrow in Decatur, Texas. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and a member of Pleasant Grove Cowboy Church. Tim was a retired engineer after many years with Wise Electric Co-op. Several years ago, he volunteered at the Decatur Fire Department. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Tammy McGar of Decatur; his daughters, Lindsey McGar of Decatur, and Candace White and husband Tony of Decatur; his son, Clayton McGar and wife Tori of Sunset; 4 grandchildren, Jameson, Brooklynn, Stetson, and Loretta; his brothers, Jerry McGar and wife Lorrin, & Mike McGar and wife Khristie; his parents, Wayne and Mary McGar of Decatur; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
