Rhome ~ Tom Collelo, 65, a project coordinator, went to be with our Lord Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Rhome.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Eagle Mountain International Church Chapel in Newark. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Pastor Denny Pavlick will officiate. Pallbearers include Todd Collelo Jr., Alex Collelo, Jordan Major, John Pagmore, Scott Walters, and Fred Borgard.
Tom was born on November 4, 1949 to Anthony and Admira (Vallancourt) Collelo in Willimantic, Connecticut. He was united in marriage to Barbara Bergman on June 17, 1978 in Moosup, Connecticut. Tom graduated from Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School. He worked as a project coordinator at Sears for 20 years. Tom was a member of the Eagle Mountain International Church and a member of the Knight of Columbus. He was a caring, loving, giving, hardworking, solid Christian man. Tom loved his wife and all his children unconditionally. He was a man who gave his all and never expected anything in return. Tom touched so many hearts by his few words. His friends were also his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Todd Anthony Collelo Sr.; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Barbara Collelo of Rhome; his daughters, Pamela Major and husband Eric Sr. of Dayville, Connecticut, Tina Collelo of Florida, Carrie Collelo of Justin, Sue Richter of Dayton; his son, Keith Collelo and wife Hiedi of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann Bratley of North Carolina; 3 brothers; his stepdad, Richard Lafevebre of Connecticut; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
