Tommie Swinney Gillespie

Boyd ~ Tommie Swinney Gillespie, 90, went to be with our Lord Saturday, April 3, 2021 in Decatur.

Funeral Service is 2:00 PM Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial at Boyd Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Tommie was born on September 7, 1930 to Thomas and Gladys (Johnson) Swinney in Decatur. She was united in marriage to Herald Gillespie on January 27, 1948 in Decatur. Tommie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herald Gillespie; daughter, Soretha Kay Wilson; 2 sisters, Edith Huebner, and Barbara Luster.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Herald Wayne Gillespie and wife Linda of Decatur; Marshall David Gillespie and wife Marietta; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
