BRIDGEPORT -- Tommy Dunn, 71, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral: 1 PM Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Thomas Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Buddy Ward will officiate, assisted by Rev. Jerry Stout. Pall bearers: Johnny Wall, Mitch Massey, John Wall, Mark Ritz, Rodney Dunn, Jason Worther, Milford Groves, Howard Kaker. Honorary pallbearers: Jerry Blaisedell, Robbie Dunn, Bud Young,Clarence Wallace, Chris Harrison, and Dickie Dunn.
Tommy was born on March 12, 1937 to David Henry, Sr. and Ida Belle (Holt) Dunn in Paradise, Texas. He married Barbara Shelton on May 26, 1956 in Gainesville. Tommy was a heavy equipment operator for Chico Crushed Stone. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Chico.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Dunn; 5 brothers: Raymond, G.L., Robert, David, and Kenneth Dunn; 5 sisters: Lorene Groves, Mildred Kaker, Virginia Zinnecker, May Shubbee, and Bobbie Dickenson.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: his wife of 52 years, Barbara Shelton Dunn; sisters, Faye Zuber of Superior, Montana, , Alice Blaisdell of Fort Worth, Ruby Hedge of Stephenville, Ann Little of Temple; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends..
