Transie was born May 16, 1959 in Creole, Louisiana to Ivan Lloyd and Mary Katherine (Allday) Campbell. She was united in marriage to Douglas Wayne Kerns on November 10, 1990 in Grand Prairie. Transie worked in the restaurant business for over 20 years as a waitress and manager. She was a member of the Pentacostal Church.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Douglas Wayne Kerns of Haslet; two sons, Douglas Wayne Kerns, II of Haslet and Charles Albert Evans, Jr. of Ranger; daughter, Amanda Mae Katherine Evans of Midland; brother, Dock Allan Campbell; sister, Cynthia Ann Campbell both of Breckenridge; six grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
