FORT WORTH -- Trula J. "Trudy" Fergerson, 80, a retired secretary for Ft. Worth ISD, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Whitney Bevill officiating. Pallbearers: David Fergerson, Jonathan Bevill, Merle Wang, Brian Wang, Jack Arnold and Tommy Whitley, Jr. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Trula was born Aug. 16, 1926 in Bridgeport to Frank and Jessie Phillips House. She married Ralph M. Fergerson, Sr. in Nov. 1946 in Weatherford. They had lived in Ft. Worth since 1948. Trula was chief bookkeeper and secretary at Wedgewood Middle School for 20 years. She touched the hearts of hundreds of children. Her warm, gentle smile and loving spirit will be missed by all. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Assn. and a Methodist. Trula was preceded in death by her sisters, Vista Decker and Mary Elizabeth Wang; brothers, Cabin and Drew House; Survivors: Husband of 59 years, Ralph Fergerson of Ft. Worth; daughter, Judy Fergerson Bevill and husband, Jon of Saginaw; son, Ralph Fergerson, Jr. and wife, Linda of Azle; four grandchildren, David and Cara Fergerson, Julie and Jonathan Bevill; great-grandson, Curt Fallis, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
