LAKE BRIDGEPORT -- U.D. Vick, Jr., 80, a retired master carpenter, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 in Mineral Wells. Funeral: 2 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Tuesday . U.D. became an Eagle Scout at the age of 15 years, shortly after his father died in 1940. He was a framing contractor fpr 30 years, taught school at BISD for 9 years, and taught the Texas Hunters Safety Course for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Harry Vick and his wife June. Survivors: wife: Sammie Dean Vick of Lake Bridgeport; son: Joey Vick and wife Wanda of Bridgeport; daughter: Dormer Collier and husband Don of Mineral Wells; 3 grandchildren: Kelly Rivers and husband Eric, Kati Deaton and husband Brandon, Willie Vick ande sife Ashley; 6 great grandchildren: Parker, Tanner, Ty, Harli, Gage, and Keenan; brother: W.F. Oxford, Jr. of Irving; sister: Helen Rogers of Santo; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be : Charles Mauldin, Jeff Bilby, Mike McDonald, Orville Stone, Tom Pendergrass, and Richard Huddleston. Honorary pallbearers will be: Rufus Martin and PeeWee Cansler.
