Vada M. Skiles, 76 of Runaway Bay, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Bridgeport, Texas.
Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at Paradise Cemetery in Paradise. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Lenda Tedder will officiate.
Vada was born in Decatur to father Jesse Williams and mother Ima Coker on January 8, 1943. She married her husband of 42 years, Billy G. Skiles on March 18, 1977. Vada attended Paradise High School in Paradise, Texas and graduated in 1963.
She retired from the medical field and spent her days doing the things she loved. Vada was not only known as the greatest wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt and friend, but was known for her love of baking for the doctors and co-workers she loved dearly. She worshipped her grandkids, great-grandkids and family meant everything to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters and a great grandson.
Vada is survived by her husband, Billy G. Skiles of Runaway Bay; her 4 children, Michael Montgomery of Bowie, Dianna Thielen and husband Ward Thielen of Runaway Bay, Shellie Fortenberry and husband Eddie Fortenberry of Springtown, Billy Skiles, of Arlington; her step children, David Montgomery, Ricky Montgomery, Danny Skiles, C.G Skiles, Leticia Skiles, Tammy Skiles; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Grady Williams; her sisters, Mary Ruth Cash and Trula Verner; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
At the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America.
