Vanara Jane Smith Waller, 85, passed away Saturday night, November 10, 2018 at Hospice care in Fort Worth.
F uneral is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Aaron Tuttle, Jonathan Tuttle, and Abel Casillas.
Vanara was born on May 20, 1933, in Cade, Oklahoma the daughter of Austin Lewis and Beryl (Knight) Smith. She was united in marriage to Paul E. Waller on November 10, 1968 in Madill, Oklahoma. Vanara formerly of Alvord resided in Decatur since 2011 after the death of her husband Paul Edsel Waller of 43 years of marriage. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alvord. Vanara spent her days at the senior citizen homes playing bingo and singing with a group to other seniors less fortunate.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her brother, Joe Smith.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra Tuttle and husband David of Southlake; her son, Don Waller and wife Sherry of Lakeside Village; her sister, Faye Rush and husband Bill of Arlington; her niece, Barbara Leal of Arlington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; cousins, and a host of friends.
