Verda Slimp

Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, December 14th at Aurora Baptist Church with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Withers will officiate. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Jody Slimp, Joshua Slimp, Micah Slimp, Matthew Slimp, and Timothy Slimp.

Verda was born May 2, 1931 in Talogo, Oklahoma to George and Ada (Koehn) Teske. She was united in marriage to Bobby Slimp on January 8, 1955 in Fort Worth. They were married for 49 years until his death in 2004. She was a retired L.P.N. Verda was a member of Aurora Baptist Church for over 40 years.

Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Danny Lee Slimp and wife Tina of Bowie, and Randy Eugene Slimp and wife Georgeitta of Decatur; 6 grandchildren, Jody, Joshua, Micah, Matthew, Amelia, and Timothy; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Arlie and Ervan Teske of Enid, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Iona Green and Arlene Teske of Enid, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
