Vernon Odell Chaffin

POOLVILLE -- Rusty Chaffin, 77, a carpenter, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at home. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at Flatwood Baptist Church in Decatur. Rusty was born Sept. 10, 1929 in Iredell, TX to Walter A. and Mattie Marsh Chaffin. He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Alexis Mills. Mr. Chaffin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Survivors: Wife, Lucille Chaffin of Poolville; sons, Vernon Chaffin Jr. and wife Carline of Corpus Christi, Billy Ray Chaffin and wife Marie of Corpus Christi, Douglas Mills and wife Marie of Bridgeport, Roger Allen of wife Lena of Corpus Christi, Benny Lee of Oregon, Fredrick Valdez and wife Marsha of Ft. Worth, Anthony Valdez of Ft. Worth; daughters, Vivian Sanchez and husband Danny of Albuquerque,NM, Sheree Lynn Halbardier of San Antonio, Debra Joyce Segura of San Antonio, JoAnn Sigler of Poolville, Regina Thompson and husband Ricky of Cleburne; sisters, Alene Goodman of San Antonio and Ada Gleeson of Oklahoma City, OK; 34 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
