Decatur: Vesta Sybil McKinney, 95, formerly of Tucumcari, New Mexico, went to be with our Lord, Friday, January 6, 2012 in Decatur.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Vesta was born July 21, 1916 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to George and Mary Frances (Morrow) Brashear. She was a school employee in Tucumcari, New Mexico for 20 years.
Vesta is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Suel McKinney and six brothers and sisters.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Dan McKinney and wife Jo of Decatur, Bill McKinney of McKinney; daughter, Merilyn Bohn and husband Marvin of Aurora, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Joanie Womble and husband Bennie of Hereford; two brothers, Goldman Brashear and wife Beverly of Georgia and Ersel Brashear and wife Annie of Hereford, Texas.
