Chico ~ Vicki Rene Gordon, 56, a high school secretary, went to be with our Lord Thursday, October 12, 2017 in Chico.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Chico with burial in Norwood Crafton Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Bro. Kenneth Woods and Bro. Lionel Young will officiate. Pallbearers include Terry Hand, Mike Jones, Shane Hedricks, and Doug Bowyer, Patrick Johnson, and Richard Singleton. Honorary pallbearers are Elliot Mercer and Taylor Hood.
Vicki was born on August 11, 1961 to Eugene and Willine (Pirtle) Grooms in Bridgeport, Texas. She was united in marriage to Curtis Lynn Gordon on Jan 6, 2001 in Crafton. Vicki was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She sponsored and supported the Chico FFA. She was a secretary for Chico High School.
Vicki was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Grooms.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are her husband, Lynn Gordon of Chico; her daughter, Callie Gordon of Chico; her parents, Eugene and Willine Grooms of Chico; her daughters, Rebecca Rasbeary and husband Danny of Fort Worth, Jenni Gordon of McCallen, Jill Gordon of Denton; her son, Cody Gordon and wife Katie of Longbeach, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Alex Solis, Chelsea Rasbeary, Bryce Rasbeary, Dakota Brandt, Seth Brandt, Easton Gordon, Callen Gordon, and Emery Gordon; her nephew, Dace Grooms; other family members and a host of friends.
Memorial contribution can be made to the Vicki Grooms Gordon Memorial Fund at the First State Bank in Chico.
