Vicky Lynn (Winchell) Barnes

Decatur ~ Vicky Lynn Barnes, 64, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 in Denton, Texas.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Gerre Joiner & Mike Wheat will officiate. Pallbearers include Michael Harrison, Heath Sparks, Casey Laverty, Juan Williams, Jered Williams, Scott Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers include Rodney Quinn, Sean Scalco,  Cody Deaton, and Chuck Oates.

Vicky was born August 18, 1959 to Billy Edward and Patsy Marie (Simmons) Winchell in Odessa, Texas. She was united in marriage December 23, 1980 to Ronald Wayne Barnes in Odessa, Texas. Vicky owned and operated Whistle Stop Café in Decatur for many years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Patsy Winchell

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, of 43 years Ronnie Barnes of Decatur; her sons, Buster Barnes & wife Jodi of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Ronnie Barnes, Jr. of Decatur; her daughters, Amber Barnes of Decatur, and Lakrica Barnes & Zach Foster of Pilot Point; 3 sisters, Belinda Booth-Caylor, Debbie Jusice, and Phyllis Bryant; 3 brothers, Mike Winchell,  Ricky Grumbles, and Joe Bill; 10 grandchildren, Logan Barnes, Layla Felts, Landon Felts, Brenlie Barnes, Mallory Tucker, Becker Barnes, Ethan Sternadel, Bristol Goggans, Bexley Foster, and Bodee Foster; extended family members and a host of friends.
