BRIDGEPORT -- Virginia Nell Dennis, 76, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, in Decatur.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2007 in Hawkins Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack McAsey officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Chuck Kennedy, James Cass, Jason Hartnett, Chet Roberts, Billy Young and Bill Smith.
Virginia was born July 26, 1931, in Park Springs, Texas to Dewey J. and Viola Moore Forsythe. Virginia was preceded by death of her parents and her first husband, Jim Hughes. She married Clinton Dennis on November 29, 1975 in Bridgeport, Texas. Virginia was a member of the Cates Street Baptist Church.
Survivors: Husband, Clinton Dennis of Bridgeport; and two sons, Celtyn Hughes and wife Elizabeth of Mansfield, and Michael Hughes and wife Dianne of Whitesboro. Four stepchildren; Alexander Dennis and wife Kathy of Bridgeport, Mary Carter and husband Tim of Weatherford, Penny Andrews and husband Jackie of Bridgeport and Lee Dennis of Bridgeport. Four grandchildren, Jennifer Cass of Burleson; Nichole Hartnett of Arlington, Misty Roberts of Collinsville, and Micha Hughes of Denton. Seven great grandchildren. Numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Virginia is also survived by two sisters, Marie Love of Bridgeport and Delois Coursey of Bridgeport; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
