Runaway Bay ~ Virginia Olivia King, 90, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord, June 8, 2010 in Gonzales, Texas.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Interment: 2 p.m. Tuesday at West Wilbarger Memorial Park in Vernon.
Reverand Johhny Irish to officiate.
Virginia was born March 20, 1920 to A. C. and Katherine (Johnson) McClure in Honey Grove, Texas. She married Murray King February 21, 1943 in Honey Grove. He preceded her in death along with her parents, her 18 year old son, Carl David King and her twin infant daughters.
After Murray's retirement in 1975 from the U.S. Treasury Department in Vernon, they moved to Runaway Bay. In January of 2005, Mrs. King moved to The Romberg House, an assisted living facility in Gonzales, where she enjoyed many new friends. Virginia was a life member of the Methodist Church and a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two sisters, Katie Bird of Vienna, VA, Elizabeth Hutchison and her husband Jimmy of Gonzales; three nieces, one nephew other relatives and a host of friends.
