Decatur: Virginia Ann Christian Sensibaugh, 83, former owner/manager of Christian Funeral Home, died Thursday, March 13th in Decatur.
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15th at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur with Rev. Johnny Irish to officiate. Family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Virginia was born October 28, 1924 in Decatur to Carl Lee and Sallye Bobo Christian. She married Zack Sensibaugh on December 6, 1944 in Decatur. Virginia and Zack operated Christian Funeral Home until Zack's passing in 1970. Virginia managed the long time family funeral home until 1980 when she sold it to the Hawkins family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur and is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Sherry Lynn Sensibaugh and her sister Maxine Inabnett.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sally Engstrom and husband Jim of Ft. Worth, Susan Cocanougher and husband, Gary of Decatur, Sandra Hammond and husband, Dan of Denton; 8 grandchildren, Chris Anne, Clint, Liz, Zack, Christian, Joey, Anne and David; 6 great grandchildren, Stephani, Rachael, Natalie, Katie, Evelyn, and Dacey.
