Vita L (Mayfield) Geron

San Angelo ~ Vita L Geron, 71, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in Abilene.

Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018, at Geron Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Rev. Kirt Dauphin will officiate.

Vita was born on December 12, 1946, to Marion and Ruth (Harris) Mayfield in Fort Worth, Texas. She was united in marriage to Charles Ed Geron Jr. on September 1, 1964, in Fort Worth. Vita is a member of PaulAnn Baptist Church in San Angelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Ed Geron of San Angelo; her daughter, Melanie Lesley of Burleson; her sons, Clifton L. Geron and wife Melody Kay of Weatherford, Robby Geron and wife Tracey of Weatherford; her grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Breanna, Daniel, Shelby, Clint, Jacob, Bailey, and Gunner; 6 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way; her sister, Sandra Vanderbilt and husband Ed of Van, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
