Decatur ~ Vivian Loraine North, 93, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Friday, July 17, 2015 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery #1. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Cotton Roberts will officiate. Pallbearers include Austin Bowles, Randy Eakman, Shawn Grundy, Rusty North, Clay North, Mitch Foreman, Robert George Applewhite, Olan Rhea Foreman and James “Bimbo” Roberts.
Vivian was born on October 16, 1921 to Finley Russell and Georgie Ann (Garman) Tribble in Tobe, Arkansas. She was united in marriage to John David North on November 26, 1936 in Wise County. She was a member of Anneville Baptist Church, south of Decatur. Housewife, mother, grandmother, Vivian raised lots of children that were not even her own. Everyone wanted to go to Grannies house or Aunt Vips for fried chicken, red beans, cornbread and fried potatoes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; her parents; her daughter , Glenda Eakman; and two great-grandchildren..
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Russell North and wife Eva of Decatur; grandchildren, Patti North, Penny Bowles and husband Austin, Rusty North, Shawn Grundy and wife Brenda, Marsha Foreman and husband Jimmy, Terry Eakman and wife Debbie and Randy Eakman and wife Rhonda; 17 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
