Vivian "Jan" Janett Montford

Bridgeport ~ Vivian Janett “Jan” Montford, 86, a Medicare clerk, went to be with our Lord Monday, December 14, 2015 in Bridgeport.

Funeral is 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rev. Sam Caldwell will officiate. Pallbearers include David Montford, Jarrod Montford, James Money, Jim Bost, Clayton Byrd, and Tommy Roberts.

Jan was born on July 4, 1929 to James and Thelma (Hawkins) Chilton in Bridgeport. She was united in marriage to Billy Montford on January 26, 1946 in Bridgeport. Jan worked for the Bridgeport Clinic as the Medicare clerk until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Billy Montford; her sister, Ola Chilton Bost; her brother-in-law, C.E. Bost; her nieces, Judy Bost and Donna Sue Byrd; her nephew, C.E. Bost Jr., and her great nephew, Donald Lee Money.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters, Maxine Gregory of Tuscon, Arizona, Effie Thomas of Bridgeport; her nephews, Jim Bost and wife Cheryl of Bridgeport, Dwight Gregory of Jackson, Mississippi, Dwayne Gregory of Tuscon, Arizona, Freddy Thomas of Lubbock, David Montford and wife Beth of Bridgeport; her nieces, Judy Money and husband James of Bridgeport, Susan Gregory of Tuscon, Arizona, Jeanna Floyd and husband Ronnie of Arkansas; other family members and a host of friends.
