DECATUR--Roger W. Whiddon was born in Markham, Texas on August 27, 1929. He peacefully slipped away on October 8, 2007.
He is survived by 3 children; Susan Martin and her husband Roland of Dallas, Texas, Debra Burns and her husband John of Arlington, Texas, and Steve Whiddon and his wife Poppy of Carrollton, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Dickerson and her husband John of Bay City, Texas. Other remaining survivors include his close friend Billie Brown of Decatur, Texas; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, as well as many friends worldwide.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and his eldest son, Tony Whiddon.
The immediate family held a private burial on October 8, 2007 at Cottonwood Cemetery in Decatur, Texas. Family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
