Walter Hugo Brandt

Boyd ~ Walter Hugo Brandt, 82, went to be with our Lord Friday, July 30, 2021 in Azle.

Funeral is 10:30 AM Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in New Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rev. Jim Edwards will officiate. Pallbearers are Jason Brandt, Patrick Brandt, Ben Walling, Jake Degeer, Doyle Neal, and Mickey Corley.

Walter was born on March 19, 1939 to Hugo B. and Faye (Ellison) Brandt in Fort Worth. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Faye Johnson on May 7, 1956 in Weatherford. Walter retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Walter was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sylvia (Johnson) Brandt; and his brother, Marvin Brandt.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Phil Brandt and wife Darlene of Boyd; 2 grandchildren, Jason Brandt and Patrick Brandt and wife Andrea; 3 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Kelsey, and Harmon; other relatives and a host of friends.
