Walter Alvin Mason, 88, of Azle, put down his toolbox, closed up shop and went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 10, 2013.
A memorial service will be held for friends and family at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16th at the Shady Grove Park Pavilion. Pastor Lee Sipe of First Baptist Church Azle and Chaplain Ron Ebert of Covenant Hospice will conduct the service.
Walter was born February 11, 1924, in Burkburnett to Wilber and Rosie Lorentz Mason. He married Marcella Price February 5, 1966 in Decatur. The Masons have been Azle residents since September 1, 1966.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella; children, Gary Mason and wife Marsha, Steve Mason and wife Marci, Tye Bell and wife Jolynn, Melinda Richey and husband John, Rebecca Bethel and husband Bill, all of whom live in the Metroplex; brother, Vernon Mason and wife Opal of Fort Worth; sister, Wanda Jean St. John, of Chico; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
