Denton: Walton N. Myers, 97, formerly of Decatur, went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 30, 2009 in Denton.
Funeral is 10:30 Thursday, December 3rd at Immanuel Baptist Church with Brother Louis Horton officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Walton was born December 29, 1911 to John and Hattie Smith Myers in Chattanooga, Oklahoma. He married Lillie LaVerne Caraway on May 5, 1934 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Walton was a retired tree service owner and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, David Lee Myers and wife Carolyn of Whitehouse, Texas; daughter, Sandy Walk of Denton; grandson, Cody Myers; great grandchildren, Gabriel Shelton, Dillon Myers, Kristina Sipp and Keri Shelton; brother, Phillip Myers of Tulia, Texas; sister-in-laws, Betty and Valadee Myers, Helen Spanglo and Ruby Starnes.
Walton is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Myers; brothers, Clyde and Albert Myers; sister, Cecile Brown; granddaughters, Holly Shelton and Coleen Miller.
