BOYD -- Wanda Joyce Alston, 77, a housewife, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at her home in Boyd, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Briar Church of Christ. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Officiating is Brother Phillip McIntosh and Brother Tom Wacaster.
Pallbeareres: Tommy Wacaster, Joel Alston, Michael Hicks, John Hicks, Don Mason and Tim Bradberry. Honorary Pallbeareres: Murl Stafford and Joe Harris.
Wanda was born September 19, 1932 to John and Anna Mae McNeal in Paris, Texas. She married Al Alston November 11, 1949 in Haltom City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jack Alston, brother; Gene McNeal and two sisters; Johnnie Mae Harvey and Shirley McNeal.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Al Alston of Boyd; daughters, Johnnie Ann Wacaster and husband Tom of Clarksville, Tx. and Susan Cole and husband Terry of Ragley, LA.; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
