Waynda Jean Hogue, 72, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in Grand Prairie.
Memorial is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home at 11:00 after the memorial.
Rev. James Hogue will officiate.
Waynda was born on August 16, 1947 to Vernon and Mary (Story) O’Dell in Bridgeport. She was united in marriage November 24, 1967 to George Hogue in Bridgeport. Waynda enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grand-pets.
Waynda lived in Bridgeport until 2014, when she moved to Grand Prairie to live with her daughter and grand-pets. She worked as an assistant store manager at Braum’s in Decatur for over 20 years and after retirement, worked as a school crossing guard at an elementary school.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, George Hogue; and her brother Jimmy O’Dell.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are; her daughter, Jenny Kimball of Grand Prairie; her granddaughters, Ludovica Moreo of Monza, Italy and Sarah Kacalla of Hamburg, Germany; her sister, Bonnie Young of Saginaw; her brother-in-law, James Hogue of Eagle Nest, New Mexico; her grand-dogs, Bluebonnet and Livey; her grand-cats, Joe Perry and Willow; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In lieu of sending flowers a donation in Waynda’s honor can be made to the Kidney Cancer Research Alliance at kccure.org/donate and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
