BOYD -- Wayne Bennett, a retired Bell Helicopter inspector, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Azle.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Mark Autry will officiate. Palbearers will be Jackie Maxey, Wayne Burchfield, Jamie Badger, Gary Karosky, Tony Clark, and Tommy Spencer.
Wayne was born on September 24, 1922 in Roscoe, Texas, the son of Jewel and Amy (Jowel) Bennett. He married Freda Wilson in Weatherford. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Brand.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: His wife, Freda Bennett of Boyd; son, Johnnie Wayne Bennett of Whitney; daughter, Mary Lou O'Day of Whitney; stepson, Tony Harrison and wife Marvene of Springtown; 3 grandchildren, Kelli, Clark, and Denise Branson; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Assiter of Granbury; several nieces and nephews.
