Wayne Hawkins

Decatur ~ Wayne Hawkins, 58, a pilot, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday October 27, 2020 in Dallas.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at Sycamore Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Sycamore Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Wayne was born on September 5, 1962 to Herbert Earl and Nancy (Chance) Hawkins in Kansas City, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Karen Delaine Springer on December 29, 2012 in Burlington, North Carolina.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen Hawkins of Decatur; his mother, Nancy and her husband Neil Gatewood of Roswell, Georgia; his father, Herb Hawkins of Sun City, Arizona; his sister, Beverly Friesz and husband Scott of Woodstock, Georgia, step-sisters, Kim Gatewood of Roswell, Georgia, Hope Spetnagle of Roswell, Georgia, Linda Lapressi and husband Mike of Roswell, Georgia; step-daughters, Kristi Cross of Decatur, Kalee Schneiter and husband Cody of Decatur; step-son, Codey Cross and wife Leslie of Krum; his 4 grandkids, Maci, Bailee, Garrett Cross and Haysen Schneiter; nieces and nephews, Jenelle, Michelle, Jamie, Ryan, Cassidy, and Chase; his Houston Air Family and a host of friends.
