Alvord: Wendell Elliott, 82, of Alvord went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30th at the Alvord Church of Christ with Chester Cullum to officiate. Interment will be in the New Harp Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers are Lynn Dunaway, Bennie King, Roy King, Rex Frye, John Hunt, Kerry Clower, Russell Read, Danny Morales and Willard Howell.
Wendell was born August 2, 1926 in Forestburg, Texas to Arthur Ewing andRosa Mae (Rice) Elliott. He married Pauline Thompson on December 24, 1948 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Wendell retired from General Dynamics as Director of Tooling after 35 years of service. He was a cattle rancher for 47 years and he served 12 years on the Alvord ISD Board of Trustees.
