Decatur ~ Wilburn Allen “Shorty” Fox went to be with our Lord Monday, June 28, 2021.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur, burial will be private. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 at the funeral home.

Kenny Cantrell will officiate. Pallbearers include Rusty Mann, E.C. Crump, Terry Glen Cassity, Brad McCormick, Rex Grove, and Ronnie Tomilson. Honorary pallbearers is Terry Porter.

Shorty was born March 10. 1932 to Douglas Allen and Mabel (Taylor) Fox in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage August 24, 1951 to Eva Jo Cassidy in Krum, Texas. Shorty was retired from Poco Graphite where he was a supervisor for many years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Mabel Fox; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and a grandson, Chance Fox.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Eva Jo Fox of Decatur; his 3 sons, Henley “Bo” Fox and wife Debra Jean of Decatur, John Fox and wife Brenda of Decatur, and Marty Fox and wife Karen of Decatur; his 6 grandchildren, Russel Fox, Tressa McCormick, John David Fox, Katie Lynn Fox, Jill Fox, and Julie Fowler; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
