William Earl "Bill" Chance, 77 of Boyd , went to be with our Lord on June 9,2009 in Ft. Worth. Bill was a retired maintenance man for Texas Woman's University.
Bill was the son of Gorman Sr. and Bernadine (Rice) Chance, he was born May 13, 1932 in Palestine, Texas.
The family suggested that donations may be made to the Boyd High School Athletic Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; David Chance, son; Chuck Chance, step-son; Ron Williams and the mother of his children Dorothy Johnson.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.Officiating: Fred Chance and Tim Sipes. The family will receive friends at the viewing on Friday, June 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years Patsy; sons, William Earl "Billy" Chance Jr. of Tennessee Colony, Michael Thomas Chance and wife Patricia of Denton, daughter, Rebecca Deene Poteet of Duncanville.;twin daughters, Kathleen Kay Sumerlin of Krum,and Maxine Gay Shaw and husband Brian of Tulsa ,OK.
Stepchildren, Greg Williams of Granbury, Ronna Wilson of Boyd ,Patti Basting of Weatherford.. 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Fred Chance of Lewisville and Gorman Chance of Watagua.
