William Don Hatfield, 86, of Plano passed from this earth Friday, March 7, 2025.
Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg.
William “Bill” was born August 8, 1938 to Cecil and Vera Lee (Carlisle) Hatfield in Drumwright, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Anjie on April 4, 1975 in Garland, Texas. William was a retired Estimator/Supervisor in Concrete Construction. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
Bill worked for many years at Cooper Concrete and Garland Concrete and volunteered as an usher and Sunday School bus driver at Lavon Drive Baptist Church. He and Anjie spent extensive time in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina with Lakepointe Church and after they retired, They travelled across the United States with Campers on Mission, renovating and building facilities for Christian camps, college, and churches. Wherever they lived, they quickly joined a church and started volunteering, from First Baptist Church of Alvord to Mount Sylvan Baptist Church in Tyler, and most recently, Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Vera Lee Hatfield; and brother, Tommy Hatfield.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Anjie Hatfield of Plano; his sons, Billy Hatfield and wife Teresa of Garland, and Mike Hatfield and wife Jill of Wylie; his daughters, Donna Honeycutt and husband Tim of Terrell, Debbie Collis and husband Monty of Wills Point, Penny Brown of Grand Saline, and Kristi Lichtenberg of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Hatfield, and sister, Yvonne Simone; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
