Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Birdville Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Burial: Chico Cemetery in Chico. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
The Reverend Tom Howe to officiate. Pallbearers: Trenton Moody, Tim Moody, Shae Moody, Josh Moody and Chris Moody.
Emmett was born June 4, 1934 to Hiram and Lona Jones Moody in Decatur. Raised in Paradise, he graduated Paradise High School in 1951. He married Ermal Barrett April 18, 1953 in Denton, Texas before moving to Fort Worth and starting his career in 1954 with Koldaire Supply Company, a HVAC wholesale company.
Emmett became vice president of the company in 1962, president in 1963 and owner in 1986, with stores in Fort Worth, Dallas and Sherman. In 2005, upon retirement, he sold the company to Morrison Supply Company in Fort Worth.
Emmett was on the board of ARW (Air conditioning and refrigeration wholesalers) and was a member of the Birdville Baptist Church.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, J.H. Moody and sister-in-law Earldine Harms Moody.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Ermal of Fort Worth; sons, Gary Moody and wife, Diane of Fort Worth, Kenneth Moody and wife, Tyree of Keller; grandsons, Trenton, Josh, Tim, Chris and Shae Moody; great-grandchildren, Madison and Will Moody; sister-in-laws, Fletta and Norma Barrett; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
