William Lee Slagle

Decatur ~ William Lee Slagle, 80, went to be with our Lord Saturday, April 18, 2020 at his residence in Decatur.

Viewing is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

William was born April 22, 1939 to Claude and Mary Katherine (Smith) Slagle in Paradise, Texas. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and a member of Decatur Church of Christ. William retired from Lockheed Martin and also worked in construction. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed gardening & bird watching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Katherine Slagle; and his half-sister, Opal Sweet of Dumas.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Callie Slagle; his daughter, Lara Shotwell and her children Ben, Blake, and Sidney Shotwell; his daughter, Holly Tucker and husband Lee, and their children Addison and Payton Tucker; his brother, James J. Smith; his sister Claudia Lawson; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
