Homer Smith, Sr., 83, a horse rancher, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Decatur.
Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 15th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Homer was born September 20, 1926 in Denton, Texas to Walter and Tullie Olivia Ashlock Smith. He married Ollie "Lucy" Smith on October 25, 1953 in Gainesville, Texas. Homer served in the United States Navy and was a long time member of the Wise County Sheriff Posse.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Lucy Smith of Decatur; daughters, Judy Crider and husband, Freddy of Liberty, Texas, Glenda Big of Chico, Sandra Kay Morrow and husband, Billy of Bridgeport; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brother, Jack Smith of Decatur; and daughter-in-law, Darenda Smith Kirby of Arlington.
Homer is preceded in death by his son, Homer Smith, Jr. and daughter, Patsy Doll Smith.
