William "Mr. Bill" Earl Martin

Avondale ~ William “Mr. Bill” Martin, 85, a retired maintenance worker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, October 17, 2019 in Decatur.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial in Cumby Cemetery. Military honors provided by Wise County Veteran's Group. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rev. Fred Raney will officiate.

Mr. Bill was born July 4, 1934 to Earle and Bula (Price) Martin in Robertson County, Texas. He was united in marriage to Juanita Nichols.  Mr. Bill retired from Tarrant Community College.  He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Juanita Martin; and his sons, Doyle Martin and Madison Hicks.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Billy Martin Jr. of Smithville, Lori Rutz and husband Glenn of Tyler, David Martin of Taylor, Nancy Culpepper of Chico, and James Hicks and wife Melody of Keller; his grandchildren, Travis, Cody, Missy, Scott, and Lindsey; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Makenzi, Avery, Mia, James, Samual, Claire, and Brady; his great-grandchildren, Cooper and Gunner; his brothers, Bob Martin of Kempner, and Jerry Martin and wife Sharlene of Marion; his sister, Judy McMillan of Denton; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
