Boyd ~ W.L. "Pat" Goodger, 90, rancher of Goodger Farms, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2016 in Boyd, Texas.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church.
Reverend Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers include Kris Taylor, Jeremy Goodger, McCade Goodger, Richie Simmons, Jorge Patino, and Delores Patino.
He was born on November 7, 1925 to William and Lossie (Wren) Goodger in Boyd, Texas. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Lavelle Rasbury on March 18, 1945 in Boyd.
Pat was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boyd. He was also a Founding Member of the Wise County Sheriff's Posse as well as a member of both the Texas Watermelon Association and Texas and Southwest Cattle Raisers Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; his parents; his granddaughter Caitlyn Kay Goodger; his sisters, Nelda Gem Bassham and Emily Ann Tatum.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Judy Taylor and Husband Tim; his son, Bill Goodger and wife Sherri; five grandchildren, Jeremy Goodger and wife Patty, Shelley Simmons and husband Richard, Kris Taylor and wife Rachale, McKinley Goodger and McCade Goodger; five great grandchildren, Sydney, Anna, Jacob, Jenna, and Charley; a host of other family members and many friends.
