Willie "Red" Mitchell

Runaway Bay ~ Willie “Red” Mitchell, 85, a retired plant manager, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Bridgeport.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Long time friend Danny Deen will speak.

Red was born on May 12, 1929 to Johnny and Julie (Covey) Mitchell in Ralls, Texas. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Sturdivant on December 24, 1969 in Glen Rose, Texas. Red was a retired plant manager for Dean Meat Company in Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Troy Allen Mitchell; his daughter, Linda Stokes; his brothers, Jr. and Kenneth Mitchell.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Mitchell of Runaway Bay; his sons, Willie Mitchell Jr. and wife Stacy of Azle, Donnie Mitchell of Paradise, John Mitchell of Roanoke, George Dunn and wife Tammie of Washington, Eddie Dunn and wife Clarice of Washington; his daughters, Jerrie Tinney of Olney, Juanita Dunn of Washington; his brother, Melvin Mitchell and wife Loretta of Bridgeport; his sisters, Helen Louise Clark of Decatur, Nancy Meadows and husband Roger of Bridgeport, Mary Lou Wojick and husband John of Hurst; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; other family members, and a host of friends.
