Decatur: Wilma Smith, 86, of Decatur, a retired LVN, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tad Billmire and Dr. Van Gardner officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Zach Turlington, Joe Turlington, Tanner Turlington, Michael Renaker, Shawn Howe, and James Miller.
Wilma was born May 15, 1925 in Benjamin, Texas to William and Lottie (Simpson) Reed. She married Joe Smith in 1958 in Decatur and was married 23 years at his death in November, 1981. Wilma is also preceded in death by her parents, brother, F. C. Reed, and 3 sisters, Rosie Howe, Cleva Nell Bunnell and Geneva Boyd. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur.
Left behind to cherish her memory are daughter, Vicki Turlington and husband, Joe of Decatur; son, James Carter of Decatur; four grandsons, James Miller, Jeff England, Jack and Joe Turlington; five granddaughters, Brooke and Hannah Miller, Britany, Chloe and Katie Turlington; sister, Virginia Renaker; and brother, Carroll Reed.
