Windell Jack Lamance

September 11, 1926 — October 28, 2017

Boyd ~ Windell Jack Lamance, 91,  a retired lineman, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Garvin United Methodist Church in Boyd with burial at Garvin Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Pastor Phillip Weitner will officiate.  Pallbearers are John Anderson, Buck Lamance, Harry Lamance, Dusty Lamance, Lynn Cordell, and Scotty Cordell.

Windell was born on September 11, 1926 to Riley and Laura (Flanery) Lamance in Holiday, Texas.  He was a member of Garvin United Methodist Church, Good Fellas, Prison Ministry (Wise and Huntsville), and Wycliff Bible Translators.  Windell had a ministry on his farm called 'The Lord's Acre.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Julia Isabel (Turney) Lamance.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sharon Overstreet and husband Chuck of Boyd; his son, Bruce Langley and wife Sharon of Valdosta, Georgia; his daughter, Vivian Brown and husband R.D. of Round Rock; his daughter, Cathy Jackson and husband Tommy of Palmyra, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
