Chico ~ Winona June Cox, 81, co-owner of Chico Limestone and a retired supervisor for Texas Instruments, went to be with our Lord Friday, October 13, 2017 in Bridgeport.
Private family graveside to be held Tuesday.
Winona was born on January 23, 1936 to Gus and Opal May (Warden) Richey in Crafton. She was united in marriage to Elmer Cox on December 22, 1956 in Chico. Winona earned 2 Bachelor’s degrees from the University of North Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Cox; her son, Stevie Cox; her grandsons, Clint Cox, and Sammy Smith; and her brother, Buddy Richey.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gina Cox Schaefer and husband Steven; her sons, Eric Cox and wife Brenda, Van Cox and wife Sheila, Chris Cox and wife Katherine, Shay Cox and partner Matt Newman; 7 grandchildren: 15 great grandchildren; her sisters, Janet Myers and husband Bill; Anna Hand and husband Jimmy; and her brother, Bobby Richey and wife Francis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
