Bedford ~ Woodard Tipton Read, 89, a hydraulic engineer, went to be with our Lord Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Bedford.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Paradise Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
Rev. Lee Trigg will officiate. Pallbearers include Taylor Dedeke, Jason Waldie, Simon Wolfe, Sammy Waldie, and Ryan Abel.
Woodard was born on January 29, 1926 to Thomas and Lucille (Tipton)
Read in Philipi, Tennessee. He was united in marriage to Mildred Clement on July 15, 1950 in Denton. Woodard served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from MAPCO, he was a tool designer.
Woodard was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Tennessee Sendak and Doris Bogart; his brother, Tommy Read.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Mildred “Midge” C. Read of Bedford; his daughters, Joyce Waldie of Fort Worth and Jan Dedeke and husband Ron of Aledo; his grandchildren, Jason Waldie of Keller, Tiffany Wolfe and husband Simon of Roanoke, Samuel Waldie of Washington DC, Candice Abel and husband Ryan of Weatherford, Taylor Dedeke of Bryan; his great grandchildren, Isabel Waldie, Grace Waldie, Chase Wolfe, Hadley Wolfe; other family members and a host of friends.
