Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Rev. Zack Landis will officiate.
Wynona was born on May 2, 1923 to Jewel and Emma (Stotts) Williams in Stephens County, Oklahoma. She graduated from Megargel High School in Megargel, Texas. Wynona was united in marriage to Charles D. Branson on May 26, 1945 in Olney, Texas. She served as chairman of the Decatur Hospital Board as it transitioned into Wise County Regional Medical Center. Wynona was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Charles D. Branson; and her sisters, Dema Nachtigal and Scott Bottarini.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Jerrell Branson of Brenham; her grandsons, Ash Branson of Waco, Cpl. Coleman Branson USMC of Camp Lejuene, North Carolina, Price Branson of Brenham, Reese Branson of Brenham; her brother-in-law Bill Gilmore and wife Ann of Decatur; his niece, Cherryl Gilmore of Brenham; other family members and a host of friends.
