Decatur ~ Zelda Mae Smith, 93, of Decatur went to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 19, 2016 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Zelda was born on November 17, 1922 to Arthur Lee and Izetta (Rucker) Toten in Medicine Mound, Texas. She married J.A. Smith on May 9, 1939 in Decatur, Texas. They were married for 58 years until his passing in 1997.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Theda Smith and husband Gary of Decatur; 2 grand daughters, Lisa Moore and Ronnie of Sweeny, Texas and Linda Smith and Denver of West Plains, Missouri; 4 great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kasie, Keri, and Kara; 5 great-great grandchildren, Kasen, Ansley, Ryan, Easton, and Adalynne; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, a daughter, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
