Funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, November 14th at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with Rev. Bill Cleveland and Dr. Bill Howse officiating. Interment: Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Zenna's grandsons, Dean Peace, Brad Thompson, Andy Thompson, Kelly Rice, Ty Coffee and David Adams.
Zenna was born April 12, 1917 in Waskom, Texas to Marion Monroe and Nellie Augusta (Young) Sheets. She was united in marriage to J. T. Rice on July 27, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas and was married 62 years at his death on July 26, 1998. Zenna and J.T. were owners of a service station in Alvord for over 35 years.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Clair Adams and husband Neal of San Angelo, Barbara Peace and husband Ben of Alvord, Francie Coffee and Lynn Garrett both of Decatur; son, Michael Rice and wife Kathy of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Robert Sheets and wife Mildred, Finis Hearon and Marion Connell; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Zenna was preceded in death by her sister, Malissa Craddock; brother, David Sheets; and grandson, Jeff Adams.
