Dorothy Nell (Calvert) Coker

Rhome ~ Dorothy Nell Coker, 94, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Dr. Joe Tims will officiate. Pallbearers include John McPherson, Jim Rose, Steve Otremba, Travis Rose, Austin Ledford, and Jeremy Hibler. Honorary Pallbearers include Logan Otremba, Dillon Sims, Christopher Sims, and Patrick Coker.

Dorothy was born July 16, 1926 to Claude C. and Elva (Parr) Calvert in Justin, Texas. She graduated from Rhome High School and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Roanoke. Dorothy was united in marriage March 12, 1945 to Jesse Coker in Rhome, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, Jesse Coker; her son, Kenneth Coker; 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Nancy McPherson and husband Paul of Rhome; her son, Ronny Coker and wife Marilyn of Hughes Springs, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl Rose and husband Jim, John McPherson and wife Tracy, Jennifer Otremba and husband Steve, Michael Coker, Michelle Champion and husband Joe, and Kenda Sims; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Billie Colvin of Ft.Worth; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
