Ellen Marlene (Jeffers) Chung

Ellen Marlene Chung, 73, of Rhome, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Decatur, Texas due to complications from the Covid-19 virus. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Thursday for viewing and visitation at the funeral home. Please bring any sweet memories to share with the family.

Marlene was born July 13, 1947 to Isaac William and Ruby Lucille (Prock) Jeffers in Carthage, Missouri. She graduated from Carterville High School and worked with General Motors in Kansas City, Missouri. She was united in marriage June 25, 1982 to Joseph HoSung Chung in Crane, Missouri. She devoted her life to caring for her family and others. Not only did she love greatly, she is loved greatly.

Those left behind to cherish her beloved memory are her sons, Gregory Lee Chung Jeffers and wife Maria of Moscow Mills, MO, and Joshua Emmanuel Chung of Rhome, TX; her daughter, Sarah Frances (Stamper, Chung) Mack and husband James of Aubrey, TX; 7 grandchildren, Allyssa Jade and Wesley Austin Mack, and Daniel with wife Jenna Jeffers, Kara, Thomas, Dawson, and Levi Jeffers; 1 great-grandchild, William Lee Jeffers; her brother, Gary Jeffers of Gladstone, MO, her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Jeffers and husband Paul of Phoenix, AZ, and Caroline Jeffers of Liberty, MO; other family members as well as a host of friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chung; her parents, Ruby and Isaac Jeffers, and step-mother, Nellie (Swager) Jeffers.

The family extends sincere gratitude to all her care staff at Decatur Hospital and special thanks to everyone who has taken time to pray for her and our family.
